Now it's official: Federica Sanfilippo will make her debut at the Tour de Ski, the 16 Azzurri with Pellegrino and De Fabiani le

The South Tyrolean biathlete engaged in the central event of the cross-country season, starting on Saturday 31 December with the sprint in Val Muestair. The FISI has announced the call-ups, with ten men and six women competing for Italy.

Everything is ready for the seventeenth edition of the Tour de Ski, scheduled from Saturday 31 December to Sunday 8 January between Switzerland, Germany and Italy, with the Italian national team presenting themselves with important ambitions and 16 athletes, including the big news (expected) of the debut at these levels in cross-country skiing for a biathlete like Federica Sanfilippo. The summons of the South Tyrolean expert, returned to winning in her discipline in the IBU Cup, but still excluded from the World Cup this season (will she be in Pokljuka, leaving the Tour de Ski in progress?); Sanfilippo will be part of the women's team together with the team's point of reference, Caterina Ganz, Martina Di Centa, Anna Comarella, Cristina Pittin and Nicole Monsorno. Ten men instead engaged in the central event of the season: the two beacons are Federico Pellegrino, fresh from the triumph in Davos and with the dream of an encore in Val Muestair, and Francesco De Fabiani, who without the Russians can think of fighting for a classification high level finish. And then again Davide Graz, Giandomenico Salvadori, Paolo Ventura, Simone Mocellini, Giovanni Ticcò, Mikael Abram, Elia Barp (debuting in the cup) and Dietmar Noeckler. After the start with the sprint races in free technique on 31 in Val Muestair, Sunday 1 January 2023 here is the 10 km in classic technique mass start, instead of pursuit as originally planned, in the same Swiss location on the border with Italy. We will then travel to Oberstdorf: on Tuesday 3 January a 10 km in classic and on Wednesday 4 there will be a 20 km in TL, with a grand finale as per tradition in Val di Fiemme. Friday 6 January with a sprint in classic technique, followed on Saturday 7 by a 15 km mass start, again in classic, and Sunday 8 January 2023 the 10 km in TL, naturally for both men and women, with the grand finale in ascent to Alpe del Cermis.
