In the race that saw him conquer the 2017 world title, Federico Pellegrino will go in search of the first victory of the season, already close to Dresden before the long post-Tour de Ski break, given that the World Cup has not been competed since the beginning of January.
Fresh from the splendid silver won in the Olympic Sprint in Zhangjiakou, beaten only by Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo, the Aosta Valley champion will try again on Saturday in Lahti, in his free technique race that will be staged with the finals scheduled from 13.30, while on Sunday in the Finnish town it will be time for distance trials in classic, with a 10 km for women and 15 km for men.
There are nine blues called up by technical director Alfred Stauder: in addition to the vice Olympic champion, in Lahti there will be Francesco De Fabiani, Giandomenico Salvadori, Paolo Ventura, Simone Daprà and Michael Hellweger in the men's team, while Greta Laurent, the tip for the Sprint of Saturday, she will be joined by Caterina Ganz and Martina Bellini for the women's competitions.
