The two Olympic champion was stopped by the local police while driving at a speed of 168 km / h, on a road with an imposed limit of 110; the suspicion of the agents is that Northug was under the influence of drugs, so here he was taken to the emergency room to carry out blood tests (the results of which are expected, as reported by "VG"), but as admitted by the 34-year-old Norwegian himself , a search of his home led to the discovery of a small amount of cocaine.
The event happened on Thursday evening: “I made a big mistake - explained Northug on social media - I was stopped by the police because I was driving too fast and then taken to the emergency room. Later, a small amount of drugs were found in my home. It is cocaine and I am now scared of what the future will bring, but most of all sorry for everyone I have let down once again. There will be a criminal case and I will take responsibility for what I have done ”.
