Marit Bjørgen's career continues over long distances: she will also participate in the Marcialonga

The Norwegian cross-country skier, fresh from renewal with Team Ragde, will compete at least five cross-country skiing over the course of next winter.

At 41, Marit Bjørgen has no intention of hanging up her skis. The native of Trondheim, after finishing her career in the World Cup in 2018 (she is currently the sportswoman with the most medals won between the World Championships and the Olympics), last September returned to the competition in long distance races, proving that she did not lose the class that has distinguished her in her long career. According to Norwegian broadcaster NRK, Bjørgen will be competing for Team Ragde again next winter, after signing a new agreement. It is not excluded that the Norwegian champion also tries to emulate her teammate Anders Aukland, who skied 700 km in Nordmarka last weekend! At least five Gran Fondo of the Visma Ski Classics circuit will be involved: Jizerská Padesátka, Marcialonga, Vasaloppet, Birkebeineren and Reistadløpet. Excellent news for the Marcialonga (historic Trentino long-distance race that takes place between Val di Fassa and Val di Fiemme), scheduled for January 30, 2022, which with the presence of one of the strongest cross-country skiers of all time will take on even more importance and prestige .
