Cross-country skiing: Alexander Terentev and Lisa Lohmann conquer the Under 23 world championship sprints at Vuokatti. Disappoi

Alexander Terentev respects expectations and wins the first Russian gold in the world championship event, ahead of the Norwegian Rystadd and compatriot Ardashev. An opaque Davide Graz was immediately eliminated. In the women's race the German Lisa Lohmann beats the Russian Matsokina and the Swedish Lindstroem.

After yesterday's postponement, today the sprints in classic technique were staged that assigned the Under 23 titles of the Vuokatti World Cup. In the men's race, the twenty-one-year-old Russian Alexander Terentev, who had already achieved two top ten in the World Cup this season, beat the competition, overcoming the Norwegian Aron Rysstad by more than 5 seconds in the final; bronze medal for another Russian athlete Sergey Ardashev. Italy had many hopes in Davide Graz: unfortunately, the 2000 class from Sappada was eliminated in the first knockout phase, ending up far from the top positions. Good performance instead of Simone Mocellini, eliminated in the semifinals, who finished 7th in the final standings. Stefano Dellagiacoma is also out in the first battery. First world champion gold to Vuokatti also for Germany. Lisa Lohmann, born in 2000, won a surprise in front of the more popular Hrstina Matsokina; third place for the Swedish Louise Lindstroem. Immediately eliminated the blue who had qualified for the final stages: Martina Di Centa, Nicole Monsorno and Chiara De Zolt Ponte. Tomorrow the junior category will be back on stage, with a female 5km and a male 10 km, both in skating.
