Cross-country skiing: change the program for the Lillehammer stage, cancel the skiathlons

The poor snow conditions forced the FIS and local organizers to review plans for the second stage of the World Cup, scheduled between 3 and 5 December in Lillehammer.

The Cross-Country Skiing World Cup, which will start on Friday from Ruka, has already undergone its first change of plans: the FIS, through a note that appeared on its official channels, has announced that skiathlons will not be held in Lillehammer male and female. The decision was made due to the critical snow conditions in the Norwegian resort, in agreement between the FIS, the Norwegian federation and the organizing committee. The skiathlons will be replaced by 10 km women and a 15 km men, both in skating, scheduled for Saturday 4 December, respectively at 10 and 12 hours. On Friday 3 December, however, it will be the turn of the skating sprints. , while on Sunday 5th December the male and female relay races will be staged. Furthermore, again due to the snow conditions, the tests will be held in the biathlon stadium, and not in the Birkebeineren Ski Stadium.
