"Cross-country skiing: future goals". In Bobbio the reflections of the blue movement: Pellegrino's words

The conference with the FISI federal technicians led to a day of discussion, already thinking of Milan Cortina 2026. The Sprint Olympic vice-champion: "We need to understand the right steps to reach the highest level of competitiveness".

An important success for the conference "Cross-country skiing: future objectives", the appointment that brings together the panorama of the blue movement, held for the second year at the Abbey of San Colombano in Bobbio (Piacenza), in collaboration with the municipality of Bobbio and the FISI Federal Technical School. It was a day of discussion, analysis and planning on the future of this discipline, at the beginning of the important four-year period that will end with the great Olympic challenge in Milan Cortina 2026. All the technicians of the national teams were present. the works were the CONI vice president Claudia Giordani and Manuela Di Centa. During the day, Paolo Rivero (on the theme "The numbers of Italian sport, athletes and technicians"), Luca Filipas ("The intensity of training: from scientific research to the field"), Markus Cramer ("The importance of train with the right intensity in different age groups ") and Federico Pellegrino, a leading man in national and international cross-country skiing, who talked about his experience as an athlete. “The ambition to become a champion is necessary, pride instead is to be avoided - explained the vice Olympic champion in charge of the sprint - We must cultivate our competitiveness, understand what are the right steps to reach the highest level. Only at the end of his career can one really understand his own value, a cross-country skier will become the protagonist through his head and his legs. I recommend two things to everyone: remember that athletes' trust is won by giving continuity between saying and doing and through communication ”. The FISI President Flavio Roda was also present at the day: "I thank those who intervened and those who are giving their contribution to this discipline that has written pages in the history of Italian sport - he declared - We have been going out for two particularly hard years due to Covid which did not prevent the activity from being carried out with the same intensity as before, if not even increased. All the coaches of the national teams and those of the ski clubs are working with great passion, we will work to be prepared for the next Olympics ”.
