Cross-country skiing: Peter Eliassen and Britta Johansson Norgren conquer the Maricalonga

Peter Eliassen wins his first Marcialonga after the second place in 2016, among the women wins a magnificent Britta Johansson Norgren.

Only Marcialonga was missing in Peter Eliassen's prestigious palmares, which he won by dominating from beginning to end. Victory built in every 70 km distance between Moena and Cavalese, the Norwegian team Bn Bank has imposed an unbearable pace for the claimants to victory, also passing first on the famous ascent of Cascata. Eliassen had already achieved success in 2016, after two years including one stop he managed to write his name in the almanac of Marcialonga. In second place was Andreas Nygaard while in third position Oskar Kardin both of Team Ragde. The best of the Italians is Mauro Brigadoi 48th followed by Francesco Ferrari 49th Complete ranking In the overall ranking of the Visma Ski Classic leads Eliassen with 645 points, secodno Nygaard to 579 points and third Gjerdalen to 510 points today 4th on arrival. The women's race was won by Britta Johansson Norgren who arrived alone at the finish line in front of Lina Korsgren, third Astrid Slind. The Marcialonga Light of 45km went to the men's field to Sergey Spirin, while in the women victory to Karolina Bicova. Among the 7500 participants were names of champions from all sports including: Cristian Zorzi, Paolo Bettini, Jury Chechi, Paolo Bettini and Antonio Rossi, not by chance all Olympic champions who led the banner of the Olympic candidacy of Milan- Cortina 2026.
