After the inspection carried out in Dobbiaco, all in Val di Fiemme to work on the final three days of the Tour de Ski 2021, in the cradle of the central review of the season, given that the Trentino area was the only one to have hosted all 14 previous editions with final stages.
And so it will be in 2021, with the three days scheduled from 8 to 10 January with the classic mass start of 10 and 15 km on Friday, the sprint in classic technique on Saturday and the Final Climb towards the Alpe del Cermis Sunday. The latter will again start with mass start, after the novelty of 2020; in the past few hours, the managers of FIS, Infront and the organizing committee of Fiemme, with FISI represented by the technical director of the fund Marco Selle, met in the traditional pre-event meeting.
The general manager of Fiemme Ski World Cup, Cristina Bellante, the race director Enzo Macor, the marketing manager Marica Defrancesco and the coordinator of the TV area Silvia Vaia do the honors. At the Centro Fondo di Lago di Tesero, the FIS delegation was led by Sandra Spitz, cross-country event coordinator, and by the managers of FIS Marketing, Swiss Timing and Infront for television production. The images of the Fiemme races have always recorded a record audience, reaching the total share of 198 million in the last edition.
Evaluating the data of the direct viewers, the stages of Val di Fiemme were the most viewed (33 million), with the sprint on Saturday hitting the palm of the best direct of the fund with 9 million viewers. During the meeting all possible problems to be examined were considered considering the rules for containing the spread of Coronavirus. There is a plan A which provides for the organization of events as in the past, without any restrictions, then there is a plan B which will however be taken into consideration and refined in September, pending to evaluate the development of the pandemic .
The most important problem will eventually be that of social distancing, everything will obviously depend on the rules that will be issued by the central and provincial government. Meanwhile, there are the maximum times: Friday, January 8 at 13.15 the male Mass Start TC, at 15.35 the female Mass Start TC, on Saturday the sprint race includes the qualifications at 10.35 and the finals at 13.05, then Sunday 10 January at 12.45 pm Final Climb for women and 15.35 pm for Final Climb for men. "The organizational experience of the Val di Fiemme - Sandra Spitz reiterated - leaves FIS calm, with the work in progress it will be possible to adapt the rules, formats and types of competitions to the needs of the moment".
