Seventh after two stages, Martin Johnsrud Sundby has reversed the fortunes of the Nordic Opening in Lillehammer in the 15 km CT to closing pursuit. The Norwegian has prevailed in solitary, pulling all in half of the last lap, after having filled a passive 50 '' from the winner of the first two tests and the balance points leader, Calle Halfvarsson.

At the start, the Swede could handle 28/2 Sergey Ustiugov and 38 Marcus Hellner. The two closest pursuers were soon incorporated into a large group which includes six Norwegian (Johannes Høsflot Klæbo, Pål Golberg, Finn Haagen Krogh, Simen Hegstad Krüger and Emil Iversen, over the same Sundby), two Finnish (Iivo Niskanen and Matti Heikkinen ) and Alex Harvey.
After a good defense in the first round, ended with 42 '' on his pursuers, Halfvarsson has drastically declined in the second. To 10 km, the margin was already thinned to 10 ''; the first detection of the third round, at 10.8, was virtually canceled.
At the time of reunification, Sundby took authoritatively in hand operations, imposing a forcing that forced fellow survivors travel to surrender in the space of a few hundred meters. In Italian Key, today's race saw the best performance of Francesco De Fabiani season. Twenty-fourth after two stages, the Aosta Valley has recovered up to get into the fight for 12th place, finally settling in 17th, with the fourteenth day time.
They also recovered positions Dietmar Nöckler (from 40th to 37th), Federico Pellegrino (from 54th to 39th, outside the stage 30 for 3/10 of a second) and Maicol Rastelli (from 71st to 64th). Giandomenico Salvadori fell instead from the 59th to the 66th square.
Today's exploits in other Sundby also the top of the overall standings of the World Cup. The Norwegian command with 350 points, ahead of 316 Halfvarsson and 304 Klaebo. Follow Iversen (281) and Goldberg (260).
