Sweden without Charlotte Kalla, Finland in full: here are the squads of the two Scandinavian national teams for the Tour de Ski

In recent days Sweden and Finland have announced the athletes who will take part in the stage event, which will be respectively fourteen for the Swedish team and eleven for the Finnish one.

After having skipped the stages of Davos and Dresden in order not to take risks related to the possibility of contagion from Covid-19, Sweden and the Finalndia of cross-country skiing are ready for the great return to the World Cup. The two national Scanidnave teams will, in fact, at the start of the Tour de Ski (which will start on January 1, 2021 in Val Mustair, Switzerland), unlike Norway, the only team that will not take part in the competition. Sweden will present themselves at the start with a very high level formation: between the male and female sectors, fourteen athletes have been called up by the technical director Anders Bystroem; the only excellent absence is that of Charlotte Kalla, struck by covid-19 in mid-November and still back in condition. Among the men were called: Johan Häggström, Oskar Svensson, Calle Halfvarsson, Björn Sandström, Marcus Ruus and the very young William Poromaa. In the women's sector, in addition to the winner of the first sprint of the season in Ruka, Linn Svahn, Emma Ribom, Moa Olsson were forced to. Maja Dahlqvist, Moa Lundgren, Ebba Andersson, Jonna Sundling and Frida Karlsson. No surprises in the Finnish team: eleven athletes called up between the male and female sectors. Iivo Niskanen will lead the men's patrol; in addition to the bi-Olympic champion, another five Finns will be competing: Ristomatti Hakola, Lauri Lepistö, Juho Mikkonen, Verneri Suhonen and Markus Vuorela. The women's team will be composed of five elements: Jasmi Joensuu, Katri Lylynperä, Johanna Matintalo, Kerttu Niskanen and Krista Pärmäkoski, who will certainly be the leading woman of the Scandinavian team.
