In the summer of 2011, it gained international reputation for a more unusual, uncommon adventure. He, his brother Petter and Niklas Dyrhaug were heading for a rally of the national team in the Oberhof skitunnel. However they remained without gasoline in the freeway at 5 km from the closest distributor.
So Tomas put the skiroll at his feet and with a can of tan in his hand he went to the full Autobahn to recover the fuel required to continue the journey. Many motorists, seeing it on the emergency lane, warned the road police, who - amid the disconcerted and the amusing - intercepted and overcame it, except to take a photo of it.
