At the end of the two days of Oberstdorf Johannes Klaebo is firmly in the vomiting of the men's rankings and is ever closer to winning his second Tour de Ski. Among women, the Russian Natalia Nepryaeva is surprisingly leading with a good margin over Kerttu Niskanen and Jessie Diggins, everything will probably be decided on the terrible final climb to Alpe Cermis.

Once the stages of Lezerheide and Oberstdorf have been archived, the Tour de Ski will restart on Monday 3 January from Val di Fiemme where the mass starts in classic are scheduled, plus the grand finale on Alpe del Cermis scheduled for Tuesday 4.
The male general classification sees the Norwegian Johannes Klaebo, already winner of the competition in 2019, in the lead with a clear advantage over his opponents, also considering his form. 1''19 on the Russian Alexander Bolshunov. More detached, at 2 '' 03, Erik Valnes, excellent 2nd today; 5th provisional place at 2 '' 21 from Klaebo for Francesco De Fabiani, who, given his state of form and his feeling with Val di Fiemme, can really aspire to a sensational and unexpected podium. Another one of the contenders for the podium, Iivo Niskanen, lost two positions, now 6th at 2 '' 25.
Federico Pellegrino climbs up to twenty-seventh position, while Giandomenico Salvadori and Maicol Rastelli are just outside the top thirty, respectively in thirty-second and thirty-first position.
After today's success Natalia Nepryaeva is incredibly leading this Tour de Ski, with a good advantage over Niskanen (+ '' 34) Diggins (+ '' 38). In the classic mass start he will certainly be able to gain ground on his opponents, even if the terrible slopes of Cermis will most likely decide the winner. Out of the game, however, one of the main favorites, Frida Karlsson, now in 44th place in the standings, after the heavy penalty received today for contact with Jessie Diggins. The Swede will probably not even start in the mass start on Monday, leaving the Tour de Ski early.
Only one blue currently in the top thirty: Caterina Ganz, twenty-third at 3 '' 12 from Nepryaeva. Thirty-first Lucia Scardoni, forty-third Anna Comarella, out of the first fifty Manuela Di Centa, Cristina Pittin and Greta Laurent.
Monday 3 will be the turn of the mass start in classic in Val di Fiemme, where the attention of the Italian public will be directed to De Fabiani, already auotre of excellent tests at Lake Tesero. On Tuesday, however, the fateful climb to Alpe del Cermis will decree the winner and the winner of the seventeenth edition of the Tour de Ski.
