In the men's field Johannes Høsflot Klæbo imposed himself for the second time, replicating the success of 2019 and equalizing what his great Russian rival did. An edition to remember for Johannes Klæbo who in this Tour de Ski not only achieved the final success and four stage victories out of the six disputed, but also became the most successful cross-country skier in history, overtaking Bjørn Dæhlie. 50 individual all inclusive victories, 47 in the World Cup, 2 Tour de Ski. The Norwegian has in fact replicated the triumph of 2019, reaching his greatest rival, Alexander Bolshunov (2nd in the final ranking), winner of the Cermis in 2020 and 2021. Norway becomes the nation with the most successes in the cross-country skiing stage race, five, one more than Switzerland. Russian success for women, the first in the history of the Tour de Ski, thanks to Natalia Nepryaeva. The 26-year-old, after two second places obtained in 2019 and 2020, has finally dispelled the taboo for her nation, building the final success thanks to two stage wins and defending herself from the attacks of Ebba Andersson and Heidi Weng in the final climb to the Alpe del Cermis. The Norwegian won the final stage and thus climbed to the lowest step of the podium of the Tour de Ski, conquering the sixth top 3 of her career. Second podium for Ebba Andersson, who after finishing 3rd in 2021 has climbed one position, finishing in the place of honor. Russia is the sixth nation in the women's field to be able to boast a success in the Tour de Ski, after Norway (7 wins), Poland (4, thanks to Justyna Kowalczyk's poker between 2010 and 2013), Finland (2) , Sweden and the United States, both with one statement.
