On the slopes of Saariselkä, in the north of Finland, the Russian national team has played in the last test before the debut in the World Cup in Ruka, in the next weekend. The program consisted of two races, a sprint and distance, both in classic technique.

Protagonist was Maxim Vylegzhanin, capable of attracting attention in both men's races. Friday, the 34 year old world champion of skiathlon preceded Stanislav Volzhentsev 2.7 seconds in a 10 km extremely tight. In less than 7 seconds behind the winner they closed it, in order, also Aleksej Poltaranin, the best non-Russian mind, Alexander Bessmertnykh, Alexander Legkov and Andrey Larkov.
The next day, Vylegzhanin has been able to repeat the sprint, adjusting the final Alexander Panzhinskiy and German Sebastian Eisenlauer.
Among women, the distance Friday was the prerogative of Yulia Tchekaleva, really undermined only by Yulia Belorukova, batting for just over three seconds.
In the sprint, to impose itself was instead the 24 year old Yelena Soboleva, who dominated a podium completed by Russian Natalia Matveeva and Natalia Nepryaeva.
