Fifteen have been called up for the Tour de Ski, starting on Tuesday 28 December from Lenzerheide to end with the traditional climb to Cermis, seven days later on 4 January 2022.
For cross-country Italy, Federico Pellegrino, fresh from the first podium of the season with second place in the Sprint in Dresden, Francesco De Fabiani, Giandomenico Salvadori, Maicol Rastelli, Paolo Ventura, Davide Graz, Michael Hellweger and the young will be present Alessandro Chiocchetti and Martin Coradazzi, while Greta Laurent will lead the women's team also composed of Caterina Ganz, Lucia Scardoni, Anna Comarella, Cristina Pittin and Martina Di Centa.
The program will open in the Swiss resort with a Sprint in free technique, followed the next day by a 10 km female and a 15 km male in classic. Thursday 30 December is the first day of rest with transfer to Oberstdorf, where it will resume competing on Friday 31 with a male 15 km and a female 10 km in free technique with mass start, followed on Saturday 1 January by a sprint in classic technique. . The Tour de Ski 2022 will end in Val di Fiemme, as always, on Monday 3 and Tuesday 4 January with a 15 km TC male and a 10 km TC female, starter of the classic appointment with the final climb on Alpe del Cermis, on the distance of 10 km in free technique.
