Visma Ski Classic: Berdal and Norgren triumph in the magnificent Vasaloppet

Another spectacular edition of the oldest and largest cross-country skiing race with over 16,000 athletes ended and gave the victory to Berdal and Norgren.

The Vasaloppet that has staged today has given a fascinating race with first place Tore jorseth Berdal. The Norwegian in his first victory in this race managed to precede his teammates who managed to hit a fantastic team hat-trick. The Norwegian team Team Koteng managed to complete the podium with Stian Hoelgaard and Torleif Syrstad. The adverse weather conditions of this 90 km with hard temperatures around 0 degrees and snowfall scattered on the track meant that attacks from afar were discouraged. At 10 km from the finish line Eliassen forces the pace by thinning the lead group. To exploit the moment 4km from the end is Berdal who launches the 'decisive attack sacrificing to victory by closing in 4:39:15. The general classification sees Nygaard in first place at 909 points, according to Gjerdalen at 800 points and third Eliassen at 713 points. In the women's field, Britta Johansson Norgen (Lager 157 Ski Team) dominated the race, closing in 4:54:24 and pulling out the second Lina Korsgren (Team Ramudden) of 3''47 '' '' 1. In third place was Katerina SmutnÃ (ED System Bauer Team) who lost the sprint for second place. In the overall standings he still leads Britta Johansson Norgren with 1050 points ahead of Katerina SmutnÃ at 885 and Lina Korsgren 865 points.
