VIDEO - Federico Pellegrino: The goal to defend the world sprint gold that no one has won twice

In Livigno, our Dario Puppo met the world champion and the Olympic sprint runner Federico Pellegrino.

Much has been the topics discussed, starting with the possibility of having the Olympics in Italy in 2026: "At the moment my Olympic thought is aimed at the Beijing Olympics 2022, so very far from my areas and the Alps where surely many fans and fans they wait for an Olympics to return to Italy - says the 28 year old from Valle d'Aosta - Nus. This could happen in 2026 so I think the Montagna Italia 2026 project is something that can bring good not only to Italy but to the whole Alpine area. We have now three Olympics away from these areas that have a great tradition in winter sports and then returning here to Italy would be really nice ". The chat moves on the summer preparation, in which Livigno always supports very well the athletes who train there: "Livigno has indulged us in our request to have a ring for training much more technical. Compared to the ring a few hundred meters a few years ago now having one of almost two kilometers of track is very useful, we hope however that the pile of snowfarming (literally the factory of the snow, ed) increases more and more in order to have a longer and longer track even if it is already good for us: think of the swimmers going back and forth for 25 meters of the pool, 1.8 kilometers of track for us can already be enough ". It ends with the reconfirmation of the world title won in skating in 2017 in Lahti, the technique preferred by Pellegrino that will be revived again in this year's World Championship in Seefeld after the sprint was played alternately at the PyeongChang 2018 Games: " Difficult to reconfirm even if a world title for me is not worth a medal at the Olympics so I have to take a half step back but there is, given the difficulties of the moment and also thinking that in history never anyone has managed to confirm a world title in the sprint. Doing it would be a great thing but how? Reassigning a bit 'all and resecando the objectives and now in my head there is practically only that "concludes the nice Chicco.
