Arianna Fontana smiles. Silver is his. Now they can no longer reach it and you should watch your back. And his is a full smile and well-deserved, even if the big target would be within reach, possibly avoiding the bad luck (and opponents) that have hit right in the beginning of its end. The phenomenon of short track blue takes a great second place in the women's 500 meters. Vince surprise the Chinese Li Jianrou. That capitalizes on a last act crazy, unpredictable which saw the Valtellina skater fall, hit by the British Christie (rightly disqualified by the judges) after the first corner of the Olympic track Iceberg Skating Palace. But its revenue in the Winter Olympics are just highlights. Is to swear.

He has triumphed who is left standing. And not without an incredible surprise. He won the 27-year old Chinese Li Jianrou, certainly she was not the candidate to Olympic. It was the Olympic 500 to replace the great Wang Meng and ritrovatasi in the right place at the right time, now with a gold around his neck. Arianna is the huge satisfaction for having improved the outcome of Vancouver, where he was bronze. And every right to be in the history of the sport with the third medal in the last three Olympics (silver today, there are in fact to add two bronzes in the relay in Torino 2006 and Vancouver in the 500).
The 23 year old Polaggia probably believed in the gold of the race that gave her the most satisfaction in his career. But the short track at times, is mocking as well as can be exhilarating. And the fact that the most favored with her, were out ahead of time (between injuries of long standing, falls and missed qualifying unforeseen), had cast her as the woman to beat in the final at 500. With her, as well as the neo Olympic champion, the future bronze Park Seung-Hi, maybe not the most Korean specializes in speed and the emerging Christie.
Then, the unexpected and the fall. The Park takes front and azure Scottish. La Fontana is queued, but the aggressiveness of Christie, behind the line dell'azzurra, the door to the contact. Christie and exceed the Fountain. But Arianna fails to agguantarla. It will be the third at the finish line, but will advance in second place for the inevitable disqualification of Christie.
