The pursuit of the blue short track towards the next important goals starts again from Bormio.
As announced for a few weeks, the PalaGhiaccio of the Valtellinese resort returns from this season to being the federal technical center of the Italian teams, already engaged in the structure during this period of summer preparation. Today, the President of the FISG, Andrea Gios, together with the Secretary General, Ippolito Sanfratello, and the Councilor of the Speed Sector, Luigi Sartorato, met the Mayor of Bormio, Roberto Volpato, the President of Bormio Ghiaccio, Michele Cola, the President by Bormio Servizi, Oscar Cola, the President of Bormio Terme, Naide Falcione and the Councilor for Social Services, Health and Culture of Bormio, Luigi Azzalini, to celebrate this partnership and inaugurate that Bormio system which, in its programs and wishes, so much will benefit the movement of the Italian short track.
To open the speeches the Mayor Roberto Volpato: “It is a great honor for us to find ourselves the Federal Center of the national short track teams. It means that what we have done over the years has been appreciated and we are happy about it. We are available to offer everything that can be useful to athletes and teams to achieve the most important sporting goals ". Then the words of the FISG President Andrea Gios: “That of Bormio was a thoughtful choice, which rewards the sporting tradition of a location that has contributed to making the fortunes of the blue short track.
We are convinced that here we will find fertile ground to better skate our top athletes and, at the same time, allow young people to grow alongside them. We want our teams to interact with the economic categories of the territory and that the center becomes more and more a meeting place. We will work to bring many foreign nationals to Bormio to train with us. For now I would like to thank Bormio Ghiaccio for the great work he has always done and all the souls of this wonderful territory ".
Bormio has therefore been identified as the home of the Italian short track, the place where the national teams will train to prepare for the next events. And even today the work of the blue teams has continued with the Seniors led by the technicians Assen Pandov and Ludovic Mathieu, and the Juniors of Nicola Rodigari, all engaged in the gym and on the ice. To record, in this sense, also bad news, namely the accident occurred yesterday on the track to Tommaso Dotti, victim of a fracture to the fibula and malleolus of his right leg. The Milanese born in 1993 of the Fiamme Gialle will be operated on Friday.
