Second and final day of preliminary rounds for the Olympic qualifiers at the World Cup short track speed skating. The 1000 meters and relay men and women made up the day's program, pending final (at all distances) on Saturday and Sunday to Palatazzoli of Turin.

The best news comes from the blue relay that access both to the semifinals. The path to the female, credited the second fastest time in the ranking, is clear. Different is for the male (orphan injured Nicola Rodigari, which will be operated on Mondays). With a bit of luck, center the next round being fished out with the last time after the quarter-finals. For individual races of 1000m, the budget is not as rich: the six blues that were played to the quarter (women) and in the second round (men), only half has earned the next round.
Among these, Arianna Fontana and Elena Viviani will fall on the ice in Turin to play for the quarterfinals of 1000m. The only blue qualified for the knockout is Yuri Confortola. Eliminated, however, Martina Valcepina, Tommaso Dotti and Anthony Lobello.
The day of qualifying saw the Fontana win all three of his preliminary batteries. Confortola will be the first man to snatch the pass in time, but it is also the last.
They can not, in fact, to emulate teammates Dotti and Lobello. The first is disqualified in the last qualifying round, where he challenged for the win as the two most favored, and Victor Lee Han-Bin An: after a race from third place went to chase. The blue dispute a contest of personalities with a stellar competition and looking with a desperate attempt to get back to second place on the Korean, but it's worth a penalty by the jury (objectively appeared a bit 'too severe). A little 'luck by the stopwatch for the 5000 meters men's relay, lost one of its cornerstones in the last decade of short track: Nicola Rodigari, on the sidelines of Turin despite the fractured fibula had undergone Thursdays. Preceded battery in the Netherlands, Great Britain and Bulgaria. Sunday will play for a place to enter the final against Canada, Russia and the United States. The ability to aspire to a placing of prestige seem high, given the authority by which the Italians are imposed.
From tomorrow will start the competition for medals. The skaters who have passed the preliminary rounds of these days will have more chance to qualify for the Games in Sochi 2014. And they will do anything not to fallirle.
