The world of short track prays for Lara van Ruijven. The reigning 500m world champion is in fact hospitalized in very serious conditions at the Perpignan hospital, where she struggles between life and death as her colleague Massimiliano Ambesi points out, relaunching the news of insidethegames.biz, and various Dutch portals .
The 27-year-old Olympic bronze medal relay at PyeongChang, and winner of 5 European gold medals, was training in the Eastern Pyrenees, at Fort Romeu, along with some national team-mates; last week's hospitalization is due to an autoimmune disorder, with serious complications emerging that led to induce the drug coma for the ice champion, in intensive care after undergoing two surgeries.
Serious but stable conditions, as confirmed by the national team manager, Jeroen Otter: "Lara is fighting for her life, let us pray she can do it".
