The champion of the short track will not participate in the April world championship in Montreal: her words and the unknowns related to the four-year period that will lead to Milan-Cortina 2026.

Arianna Fontana has decided: no world championships, scheduled from 8 to 10 April in Montreal after the world championship has been postponed compared to the original dates of 18-20 March.
The Valtellinese star announced his choice this morning via social media and it is clear that we are already wondering if the project linked to the entire next four-year period will restart, with the goal of the sixth Olympic participation in Milan-Cortina 2026. Much is linked to the internal situation of the federation and to the support that Fontana will receive, after the thousand controversies of the last few weeks.
"Yes, I confirm ... it is the end of this incredible Olympic season - explains the 11 times Olympic medalist in short track - Competing in a post-Olympics World Cup is never easy, and it is even more difficult when it is postponed, it already extends a long season and I gave everything I had, emotionally and mentally, to the Games.
Taking part in an unloaded competition, without the determination that you saw me pulling out on the track in Beijing, would not be like me. Anyone who knows me knows that either I do things well or I don't do them at all. So no World Championships, like many other athletes who have already announced their absence in recent weeks. I wish good luck to the athletes who will participate in the world championship event to be held in Montreal in 4 weeks. And for those who are already on vacation ... have fun and relax! I would say that we all deserve it ”.
