Troubled by the post-Olympic deadline and the three-week postponement due to a pandemic, the Montreal Short Track World Championships concluded, among the absences, a very long season-, The strikers Arianna Fontana and Pietro Sighel were absent, Italy has had to settle for a supporting role with some light.

In the women's field, the great protagonist is the South Korean Choi Min-jeong who wins the Gold medal in the 1000, 1500 meters and in the overall standings as well as in the Relay leaving only the 500 meters to Xandra Velzeboer while collecting five medals 'Silver the Canadian Kim Boutin. With two out of four elements making their absolute debut on the world stage, the blue female relay made up of Cynthia Mascitto, Elisa Confortola, Gloria Ioriatti and Arianna Valcepina became the protagonist of a good race in Final A, finishing behind three powers such as Korea of the South, Canada and Holland. Final A and seventh place also for Cynthia Mascitto in the 1500 meters.
