The world of female skeleton will lose one of its protagonists next season. The Canadian Elisabeth Vathje-Maier is in fact pregnant and next December will give birth to her first child.

The leading female athlete from Canada will therefore be forced to observe a "forced" break from the world of gut to give the Austrian national team's husband Benjamin Maier one of the most important joys of life: to become a parent.
