Skeletonworld Cup
The first stage of the Skeleton World Cup speaks German. On the gut of Lake Placid in the state of New York, the Teutonic team has excelled in both women and men, winning a total of three podiums.

In the men's field, where we expected yet another three-way match between Martins Dukurs, Sungbin Yun and Alexander Tretiakov, the German Axel Jungk was a surprise winner. The Teutonic second at the end of the first fraction, he printed the best partial in the final heat and thanks to the harakiri of the young connection Felix Keisinger gave himself the second success of his career in the World Cup.
Behind Jungk, 12 cents off, was placed the champion Martins Dukurs, while third at 39 cents from the summit ended the Olympic champion of Sochi Alexander Tretiakov. To complete the great day of the German colors Alex Gassner thought us fourth while fifth he closed the twenty-two Keisinger. After two years of inactivity due to an injury to the Achilles tendon, Mattia Gaspari returned to the European Cup circuit in Winterberg. In the race of Gaspari's return, we note the good eleventh place obtained by the two-time Italian thrust champion Amedeo Bagnis, who also showed on the ice that he had great potential right from the start. 22nd place instead for Gabriele Marenchino and 31st for Pietro Drovanti.
In the women's field, the former astista Elena Scarpellini has closed in twelfth position, while Alessandra Fumagalli has arrived twenty-second.
Good news also comes from the Intercontinental Cup circuit. Alessia Crippa and Manuel Schwaerzer in the first three seasonal appointments showed excellent progress. The 'ossolana has so far collected three placings in the top ten, with the seventh place in Winterberg enriched by the fifth part-time in the final heat, which represents his best career result. The South Tyrolean instead in Germany has won a good ninth place embellished by a splendid best time of manches marked in the conclusive descent that has allowed him to recover well 6 positions.
Definitely encouraging signs that if confirmed in the next races they will be able to give Italy new places in the World Cup circuit.
