The Italy of sledding will present itself in Beijing with eight level athletes, starting with the South Tyrolean champion and his cousin Kevin, competing in the single as Leon Felderer. In the doubles, everything is focused on Emanuel Rieder and Simon Kainzwaldner, while on a female level here is the trio formed by Andrea Voetter, Verena Hofer and Nina Zoeggeler.
Three standard bearers of the skeleton for these Olympic Games, with Valentina Margaglio aiming straight for the podium, ruthless competition in the men for Mattia Gaspari and Amedeo Bagnis who can still fight for a level placement.
And finally here is the bobsleigh, long away from the top but with eight athletes brought to China: Patrick Baumgartner will compete in the duo bobsleigh with Robert Mircea, then in the 4-man bobsleigh the two will be paired with Lorenzo Bilotti, Eric Fantazzini and Alex Verginer in a chance and with Alex Pagnini, José Delmas Obou and Mattia Variola as regards the second crew, with reserve designated Costantino Ughi and, to represent Italy in the female monobob, Giada Andreutti who did very well in the season.
