The second week of the races 63mi World Championships in bobsleigh and skeleton will open & agrave; with the dispute of the first two heats of the men's skeleton.

HISTORY
The Two-Man Bobsleigh & egrave; was introduced in the program of the World Championships in the second edition rainbow. The first race saw the Germans as victors Hanns Killian and Sebastian Huber that the gut of Oberhof in 1931 became the first world champions of two-man bobsleigh history.
The pilot who boasts more & ugrave; successes in appointments iridescent & egrave; the 'blue Eugenio Monti you & egrave; won six medals' gold. The "Red Wheel" has triumphed five times consecutively between 1957 and 1961, first with Renzo Alver & agrave; (4) and then with Sergio Siorpaes. With the same Siorpaes Monti has also won the 'edition of 1966, becoming the most bobbista & ugrave; winner ever at the World Championships.
In addition to the successes of the six champions of Cortina, the 'Italy has always had a great tradition in the world championship events, just think that other 6 pilots Blues have won the medal' gold world. The first Italian to climb on the step pi & ugrave; top of the podium & egrave; was the pusterese Guglielmo Scheibmeier that paired with Sebastian Huber triumphed & ograve; in 1954 in Cortina d 'Ampezzo. Just track Ampezzo & egrave; was the scene dell''ultimo blue triumph in a world exhibition. In 1999 it was the pilot of South Tyrol Guenther Huber and brakemen Enrico Costa and Ubaldo Ranzi to slip neck medal 'gold. Since then the Italian bob has collected very little except for the bronze won by Simone Bertazzo and Samuele Romanini in Sankt Moritz in 2007.

Two years ago in St. Mortiz was the German Friedrich Francis to win the world title. Friedrich became just twenty-two in that circumstance the pi & ugrave; youngest world champion in the history of the sport. Behind winner closed the 'Swiss Beat Hefti and' other Teutonic Thomas Florschuetz.
