From August 30th the LOTTO Bayern Eisarena will be operational again for training; the Bavarian plant had been severely hit by the flood that hit much of Germany in July.

Not even the most optimistic of insiders would have foreseen such an immediate reopening: the LOTTO Bayern Eisarena in Koenigssee on Monday 30 August will again be available to luge, bobsleigh and skeleton athletes to be able to carry out their training.
The flood that hit most of Germany and northern Europe hard in July had also battered the Bavarian track, forcing FIL and IBSF to cancel the World Cup and European Cup stages that should have taken place in the 2021/2022 season right in Koenigssee.
From the official Facebook page of the plant you can see how the ice on the track is already returning to full capacity and how numerous damaged parts have already been fixed in record time: in short, an excellent job by all the professionals, capable to get up after the dramatic events of last month.
