Blow for the Italian national sledging team: Zoeggeler brings Juris Sics to the staff!

The Latvian champion, who has just retired from competitive activity, will work as a track technician and will take care of the materials. Zoeggeler is clear: "The goal with him is Milan-Cortina 2026".

A great success for the Italian national sledding team on an artificial slope. Starting from next season, the blue technical staff will be able to count on a prestigious name like that of Juris Sics, a 39-year-old Latvian who has just retired from the competitive scene after a fantastic career in the doubles where, together with his brother Andris, he collected three Olympic medals, nine world medals and three World Cups in the sprint specialty. Sics will mainly deal with the development of materials and will also work as a track technician. “His experience will help us to grow further - explains the technical director Armin Zoeggeler - He will work closely with the double teams, we are convinced that he will help us make a further leap in quality. The common goal is to reach at least Milan-Cortina 2026 ”.
