The vice sled Olympic champion, Dajana Eitberger announced that she will miss next season because together with her historic companion she is expecting her first child.

The happy event is scheduled for the first days of February 2020, decidedly incompatible with the sporting commitments of the talented German tobogganist who has thus decided to devote himself to the family. Eitberger in a note published on a Bavarian portal, however, explained that it will be a small stop because, starting from the 2020/2021 season, he strongly intends to return to sporting activity to aim to qualify for the Beijing Olympic Games 2022 and certainly continue his career up to the world championships in Oberhof 2023.
The twenty-eight year old native of Thuringia, will thus leave a new place vacant within the very strong Teutonic national that is added to the one vacated at the end of last season by the veteran Tatjana Hüfner, which will allow Germany to start a sort of generational change. The German battleship for the winter 2019-20 will present itself at the start with an "experimental" formation that will be as always captained by the star Natalie Geisenberger who will be hunting for more records and by the confirmed Julia Taubitz second in the general classification in the last season, and most probably from Jessica Tiebel, born in 1998, who already has a podium in the World Cup in Koenigssee in winter 2017-18. The fourth available slot that will be released at the end of the three internal qualifying trials, will be contended by one between Cheyenne Rosenthal (class 2000), Jessica Degenhardt (class 2002) and Anna Berreither (class 1999).
The 2019-2020 season of the artificial toboggan run will start as usual at the end of November in Igls on the outskirts of Innsbruck in Austria and will run along 9 stages for a total of 12 individual appointments including 3 sprints (Lake Placid, Whistler and Sigulda ) and 6 team competitions (Igls, Altenberg, Lillehamer, Oberhof, Winterberg and Koenigssee).
The biggest changes compared to previous years concern the entrance of the Whistler track to replace that of Calgary as a Canadian stop and the postponement at the end of February of the historic Koenigssee event usually scheduled for the Epiphany weekend. In mid-February the season will be at its peak with the 49th World Championships being held on the Sochi track. Still in the world of events, the International Federation announced that the 2021 edition will take place in Whistler and not in Calgary as originally planned. In fact, the Alberta track needs to be modernized to guarantee modern safety standards, but at the moment the Canadian city municipality has blocked the funds.
