The problems related to Covid-19 do not seem to discourage the International Federation of Tobogganing (FIL) which for the upcoming season has decided to assign classic and sprint specialty cups for the first time in history.

The new trophies will join the classic Crystal Ball that will continue to reward the athletes who get the highest score in the overall rankings of the men's single, women's single and doubles.
The sprint cup will be assigned in the three races of the calendar where the start is scheduled for a single descent, the classification of the classics will instead be drawn up taking into account the 9 competitions that will be held over the distance of the 2 heats.
In addition to the introduction of specialty cups, FIL has announced that starting from the 2021-2022 season the World Cup competition program will be expanded with the addition of the women's doubles test. An authentic revolution as regards the two-seater sled where until last year, regulation in hand, also mixed associations could participate.
