Pregnant Natalie Geisenberger: the German luge will become a mother for the second time

The German champion, winner of two gold medals during the last Beijing Games, is expected to give birth at the beginning of 2023, which is why she will not be competing in the 2022/2023 season.

Wonderful news for the German sledding star Natalie Geisenberger: this is not a victory or a medal, but a new pregnancy for the '88 class, who will become a mother for the second time. The news was announced by Geisenberger herself, through a post that appeared in recent days on her social profiles. In the photo posted on her profile appear four pairs of shoes, one of her husband Markus Scheer, one of hers, one of the first child, born in 2020, and finally a pair of baby socks, accompanied by the words "Baby loading". This morning the Bavarian champion posted another image shared with the official page of the German federation, which portrays her with the two Olympic golds won in Beijing 2022, with the following description "Hip hip hura! this year, another gold treasure will soon be added to the Geisenberger house ". The 34-year-old German, therefore, will certainly not be in the race next season, the second of the career she will miss after the 2019/2020 season, when her first son Leo was born. The goal of the Bavarian champion in all probability will be the Milan-Cortina 2026 Games, where one of the most successful careers in the history of sledding could be closed.
