The second podium of the season for the Azzurri Emanuel Rieder and Simon Kainzwaldner arrives in Oberhof. The double South Tyrolean thanks to excellent thrust times manages to grab an excellent third position being preceded only by the very favored crews of Eggert-Benecken and Wendl-Arlt.

The blue duo, who in just under three weeks will be involved in the Beijing 2022 Olympic Games, today demonstrated excellent athletic condition on a track that historically is unfavorable to the Italian colors. The Thuringian gut is in fact the shortest of the entire calendar and the thrust factor combined with the preparation of the materials plays a decisive weight on this system for the final result. Rieder-Kainzwaldner, but in general the whole Italian team has instead subverted the prediction of the eve showing great potential in the push phase, signing the starting record in the first descent with Rieder-Rastner and improving this record with the same Rieder-Kainzwaldner who thus they were able to defend the second podium of the season from the overtaking attempt by Steu-Koeller (fourth) and the leaders of the Sics-Sics World Cup (fifth).
The Azzurri turned out to be the best of the "mere mortals", given that the Germans once again competed apart, with Eggert-Benecken winning their 50th World Cup success with a margin of more than 3 tenths of a second. Eternal Rivals Wendl-Arlt.
