The Olympic luge champion, wanted to reassure their fans after the decision to skip the last trails of qualification to the next World Cup, the recurrence of back pain.

Hüfner from his Facebook page he writes:
"These days I read a lot of things around about the state of my health, so now I decided to want to inform of how things really are. After the first test runs of the gut Koenigssee I decided to skip the two trials Qualification for the re-emergence of back pain. I preferred to use the last two weeks of October to try to recover fully rather than continue to feel sick.
After consultation with the head coach Norbert Loch, we have mutually decided that I will return to training later this month during the week of testing on gut Olympic Sochi.
I want to clarify that I have not skipped the trials on a whim or because I decided to throw in the towel, but because my goal is to better prepare for the Olympic Games in Sochi. Therefore, at the time I was in Berchtesgaden where I'm following an intensive program of rehabilitation followed by Markus Hirschbiel. '' The goal is to get to the week of training in Sochi in full form.
I am convinced that this is the'' only way to successfully compete in the next season. The first physiotherapy session went very well and it makes me look to the future in a positive way. "
