LugeSledding - Altenberg
The Championships of Sigulda, the circus of artificial luge track starts from Altenberg, where the weekend will go & agrave; scene in the 'eighth round of the World Cup. The town of Saxony will host & agrave; two appointments valid for the general classification, given that alongside the traditional competition is affiancher & agrave; for the third time this season the much-discussed format of the Sprint Race.

THE TRACK
Begun in 1981 by the will & agrave; the Security Minister Erich Mielke who wanted to give force to the movement of the sport of gut dell''allora East Germany, the DKB-Eiskanal Rennschlitten und Bobbahn Altenberg & egrave; was officially opened in 1983. Altenberg also hosted two editions of the World Championships (1996 and 2012) and an edition of the European Championship (2002). In 2012 on the occasion of the event the World Championship, the 'electrical system and the cooling system of the gut were completely rebuilt possible to bring down the operating costs of the facility and to ensure un''ottima condition of the ice.
The track & egrave; characterized by four key points where the athletes can make a difference: the 'Omega the series of curves 3,4 and 5, the maze (four corners in quick succession), the kreisel of 320 degrees and finally the ZielKreisel a second kreisel leading to the finish line.
