A good balance for Italy, in the weekend dedicated to the European long track championships, staged on the oval temple of discipline in Heerenveen.
Netherlands dominant and blue hosts who were able to take home three medals, all bronze, with the men's pursuit team to open and the leader of the movement, Francesca Lollobrigida, third and on 3000 meters, first individual race of the program , which about 1500.
The 30-year-old from the Air Force instead concluded in 4th place in her favorite specialty, the mass start disputed on Sunday: another orange double with Schouten gold in front of compatriot Groenewoud, while in the final sprint Lollobrigida had to surrender to the Russian Golubeva.
With a view to the Beijing Olympic Games, as already amply demonstrated in the World Cup in recent weeks, Lollobrigida will be able to fight for the podium in several races and will not be the only medal card for an extremely competitive national team, just think of 5th place too, in the same mass start, by an excellent Laura Peveri.
Identical placement in the men's mass for Andrea Giovannini, also good the ninth place of Jeffrey Rosanelli (in force at the Fiamme Gialle as his teammates) on 500 meters in front of David Bosa, 10th, and Mirko Giacomo Nenzi, 15th.
Finally, in the 1500 meters, the 14th position for Alessio Trentini (Sprinters Ghiaccio Pergine) arrives, with Francesco Betti (Fiamme Oro) 17th.
