In Calgary, in the fourth stage of the Speed Skating World Cup, the thirty-year-old from Lazio won the 3000 meters and Mass Start where she returned, for the fourth time, to the top step of the podium after more than three years as the last victory was on March 18, 2018.

After the victory in the 3000 meters on Friday to the sound of national record, Francesca Lollobrigida yesterday closed the first phase of the World Cup by imposing herself in the sprint in the Mass Start in front of the Canadian Ivanie Blondin who is the only one to precede her in the World Cup standings on distance. The blue skater had already climbed the podium twice this season with third places, again in the 3000 meters and in the Mass Start, in the first Polish stage of the World Cup season.
Davide Ghiotto also repeated himself on the Calgary ring: third last week in Salt Lake City, the 28-year-old from Veneto finished in second place the 5000 meters race preceded by the Swede Nils van der Poel who had his fill of victories in the World Cup over long distances.
The great season of blue Speed Skating, in view of the European Championships and the Olympic appointment, is enriched by the third place obtained ten days ago in Salt Lake City by Davide Ghiotto. Andrea Giovannini and Michele Malfatti in the Team Pursuit trial.
