Less damage than forecast for Valentina Greggio: ten days of absolute stop

The winner of four World Cups in speed skiing had injured her right ankle during a mountain workout. "It went well...".

A sigh of relief for Valentina Greggio. The blue champion, who in the 2020/21 season will try to regain that crystal ball in speed skiing brought home four times in her career, from 2015 to 2018, had been injured last week in her Verbanese mountains, in the Piancavallone area . The right ankle had collapsed and the helicopter rescue operation had been necessary: fortunately, the instrumental examinations to which it underwent revealed "only" an incomplete lesion of the anterior astragalic peroneal ligament. The diagnosis speaks of ten days of absolute rest, which will be followed by a slow rehabilitation which involves cycling and exercises to recover strength and proprioception. "I was lucky - said Greggio - because the damage is less than what I got to my left ankle a few weeks ago".
