Simply the biggest. Simone Origone confirms himself as the 'top-flight' of speed skiing and, signing the 43rd victory in the circuit, takes the World Cup for the eleventh time, won arithmetically in the last race of the season.
The champion of the Aosta Valley had 80 points of margin on the Austrian Kramer, after the victory of the previous day in the finals of Grandvalira, in the Principality of Andorra, but he left nothing to the opponents going to take another victory, while the direct rival he found himself in 6th place and out of the final round. Origone triumphed, with 183.40 km / h, in front of the Swiss Montes, author of 183.08 km / h, thus sealing the umpteenth crystal ball with 640 points, against Kramer's 502. A practically perfect season for the biggest of the Origone brothers, if we think that Vars had returned to conquer the world title crowning an increasingly legendary career.
The other blue star of the movement, Valentina Greggio, had already had to abdicate after race 1 on Friday, ended in 2nd place behind the new World Cup winner, the Swedish Britta Backlund, but the satisfaction of beating was removed the direct rival, for the second seasonal victory in the circuit, in a last heart-stopping race. The Piedmontese champion, with 178.92 km / h, in fact regulated the Backlund of measure (178.19 km / h) and finished in 2nd place in the overall of the female sector, with 560 points (climbing the podium in all the seasonal races) against the 640 of the Swedish.
