New rules for entering Switzerland. Double test mandatory for those who do not have a Covid certificate

In view of the autumn holidays and on the basis of the experiences made after the summer holidays, the Federal Council has decided on new border health measures.

Switzerland continues with restrictions to address the health emergency. From 13 September, the Green Pass is mandatory to enter bars and restaurants, museums, libraries, zoos, gyms, indoor swimming pools, water parks, billiard halls, theaters, cinemas, sporting events, weddings. And it will probably also be made mandatory for the ski slopes. From tomorrow, September 20, however, there will be new rules for entering the country. The Federal Council has decided that those who do not have a Covid certificate will have to undergo two mandatory tests. More precisely, those who are not vaccinated or have not recovered from Covid will have to present a negative test upon entry into Switzerland. Not only. Between the fourth and seventh day after arrival, he will have to undergo a second paid test. It will also be necessary to fill in the so-called Passenger Locator Form. Both rapid antigen tests and PCR tests are accepted and a fine of 200 francs is envisaged for those who do not have the required test certificate. The test obligation applies from the age of 16. People vaccinated with a vaccine authorized in Switzerland or by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) or with a vaccine registered in the WHO list will be able to enter the country by filling in only the Passenger Locator Form. Cross-border commuters, people from a border region, people in transit and those transporting goods are exempted from the double test.
