Skis and Bindingsseason 2022/23
We are approaching the start of the 2022/23 winter season, perhaps the first normalized after the two seasons spoiled by the pandemic. During these tough years of the pandemic, our tests never stopped and even under the most stringent restrictions we organized ourselves to be able to be online with material tests, without missing a single season! We have always been driven by the desire to improve: we compare ourselves over several periods of the year, during the tests we discuss, evaluate and question methodologies and results, to try to offer the best possible test (and result).

This year we tested the skis on several occasions: in the middle of winter on the snows of Pila, in spring on those of Pampeago, on both occasions guests of the Pool Sci Italia, in Livigno for freeskiing and ski mountaineering tests.
From the first day of our tests we have always believed that the testers must be the most disparate, from retailers to consumers, from coaches to national instructors, the highest figure in the world of snow. This year's Test Team, as far as skiing on the track is concerned, was led by two national instructors: Laura Jardi and Giordano Magri, while in freeski the guiding light was Andrea Bergamasco, athlete and author of the texts of the Guide in the freeski section . In all, over twenty testers have filled out our forms, in five different seasonal issues.
Compared to the last printed publication, that of the 2019/20 season, we have three important innovations. As announced last year, we decided not to test again those skis that have been confirmed in terms of structure and sidecuts, with (minimal) changes to the graphics, confirming the results of the previous test and, sometimes, increasing them.
We believe that this method of testing allows us to focus more and even better on new models, raise even more the degree of accuracy of the single test and be able to try more ski models in the same outings. Secondly, we decided to introduce the Ski Mountaineering test, testing ten skis dedicated not only to the descent but also to the ascent, putting them to the test in both situations with a dedicated Test Team. New methodologies, new cards, new results: it is the launch season, we hope you will like the result and that it will bring our readers closer to the practice of Ski Mountaineering!
As the latest addition we have implemented the boot test: last year we debuted with a series of tips on dry fit, helping you to evaluate the individual models for compression points, levers, closures and features. This year we tested them on the track, in three categories: Race, Allround Top, Allmountain.
What you can read in this year's Buyer's Guide is just a selection of the over 130 skis tested over the course of these two years, and over 30 boots, all the rest is online on Neveitalia.IT!
