The best giant skis for 2020

This year we are launching our edition of the Neveitalia Buyer's Guide with the best giant skis for the next season, on the podium of the "Chosen by the testers" we find a historical pairing and other confirmations. Let's find out the best giant skis for next year!

As every year, the premise and clarification are necessary: the "Selected by Testers" skis are those models that, in the course of our tests, received the highest marks, considered separately and globally. The tests, as always, are all verifiable and not "driven", the result is given by mathematics and not by sympathy or dislike towards some companies. In this category in particular, moreover, different models come together: some more racing others more oriented to tourism, the only characteristic proposed is that of having a radius of less than 21 meters and a length not exceeding 180cm. The prizes we have decided to assign do not make up a ranking but reward one or more aspects that have favorably impressed our testators. As has been the case for many years now, our Test Team's favorite ski and the most complete one for wide-open skiing on free field is the Rossignol Hero Master M18. Overall it is the ski that takes the highest marks and receives the prize "Gold Medal" among the skis chosen by the testers, surprising for the ability to combine the excellent comfort despite the heavy structure, the excellent conduction with a great initial impulse. The curved entrance is lightning fast but in general it is "a fantastic ski in the medium curves with high stability that transmits confidence", says the instructor Giordano Magri, and is "always attached to the ground, it helps a lot in the" inversion "to put it with the words of my colleague Stefano Belingheri. Immediately below the Rossignol we find the brother, built with the same geometries and structures, the Dynastar Speed Master GS R22. Also in this case the French ski is "beautiful the insertion in the curve when" carva "tells the instructor Belingheri, it is stable and solid under the foot, it is practically" a real giant ski ", continues the coach Alex Favaro, who points out, "has so much deformation at the start of the bend until the middle of the bend, then the impulse of the ski shoots you out of the curve, it is really a" great ski ". Particular mentions among the giant skis tested for the 2019/20 season also go to the Nordica Dobermann GSR RB FDT, the Head Worldcup Rebels i.Speed and finally to the Salomon S / Race Pro GS. The Italian ski, the Nordica Dobermann GSR RB FDT, perfectly embodies the ski from wide curves designed and studied for the track. It is indeed the wide curve ski that offers the highest comfort, without giving in to stability. In fact, it makes the most of all the bows, with a "very good turn-off that makes skiing seem light", even lighter than it really is, says Alex Favaro. Head's home product, on the other hand, stands out for its ease of operation, a sector where it received the highest scores in the lot. The ski is very reactive, it responds immediately to the commands of the skier, not only thanks to the easy entry of the curve but also thanks to the very precise tail it helps to close the curve, which occurs in a few meters. All in a context of the highest level, skiing is always attached to the ground, with excellent precision when entering a curve Finally we find the Salomon S / Race Pro GS which instead excels in maneuverability. The French ski seemed to all "very funny, stable and manageable" to say it in the words of Giordano Magri, it transmits safety and confidence to the user who can therefore enjoy very high performances, without having to concentrate too much to obtain top results Skiing favors skiing and always gives clear and intuitive answers, also earning it a recognition among the best giant skis for next season.
