Ski-Test 2018/19: which are the best slalom skis?

As usual, at the end of our tests, we elaborate the results of the individual boards to "elect" the best ski in the category, here is to you which are the skis awarded for the tight turns.

The choice is based crossing all the data of all the cards, and of course, the result, albeit mathematical, derives exclusively from the analysis of our tests. This year our testers were impressed by the Atomic Redster S9, which was awarded "Best Slalom Ski 2019" with the Gold Winner award. The ski excels in practically all conditions, obtains the highest results of the category in edge grip, impulse in the change of direction and tight curves: the three cornerstones to evaluate a modern slalom. In addition it makes good in the medium curves and it was also the best skis in the wide corners. In short, a tool that satisfies our testers on several fronts: it is a "very stable and solid ski in operation with an immediate entry" says Isabel Anghilante, thanks to the intuitive and almost automatic entry into the curve, identical curve closure "(Giovanni Manfrini), "you feel it right away, it gives you immediate security", finally, specifies Laura Jardi. We have decided to reward three other models that have distinguished themselves in the sector, one of these is the Salomon S / Race Pro SL, the French ski has distinguished itself for the conduct and stability in skiing. Compared to 'Atomic was more reactive and "bad", getting closer to a race ski and moving away from the concept of racecarver slalom. The stability of the ski is at the top and Giovanni Manfrini has underlined how the Salomon S / Race Pro SL "gives a lot of confidence to face the slopes of any kind, being so easy to manage". The structure is always "ready and reactive to receive the skier's commands" (Rolando Bertolina), resulting "stable in all situations" (Federico Casnati). The Völkl Racetiger SL Pro in the 2019 version also receives the award as "Chosen by the testers". The ski excels in maneuverability, which is why we chose to reward it. Compared to the other two models it appeared very balanced, centered for the racecarver category. The handling makes it "light and stable at the same time" (Riccardo Giacomel), and "fast in entry curve" (Giovanni Manfrini) .As said it is the slalom carver ski with the highest score in the voice handling for the next season: the Ski seems light in setting curves, but remains always stable and precise to conduct. The last mention goes to the Fischer RC4 Worldcup SC Yellow Base RT. "Its strength is simplicity! Light and intuitive but at the same time stable "describes the national instructor Stefano Belingheri. It is at the same time precise and with good elastic response, the curved entrance is simple and the closing of a fast and clear curve. The ski is awarded for the comfort offered in skiing, superior to all other models. The ski is recommended to the advanced skier who seeks a tight, fast and precise curve, but thinking more than anything else about comfort and fluidity in handling.
