2019/20 ski test: here are all the new Blizzards

Today we present the Blizzard range, dominated by the orange Firebird line, alongside the Quattro, Alight and Brhama proposals. Here are all the news of the 2019/20 season.

At the top of the Firebird range we find the GS Firebird WRC WC Piston racecarver. The tool is very similar to a giant ski, it has a good structure and a sidecut that reminds those of the racing models. It is a ski that stays glued to the ground, with great stability under the foot, planted on the ground but easy to manage. It allows you to dare so much in all the bends and transmits solidity, in the curves conducted and at high speed finds its ideal ground , expressing itself to the fullest. It is quite intuitive and can be set up easily at the start of the curve, even if it slightly faults at the end of the curve, but for technically not perfect skiers it is a great help: it allows to recover the error in every situation. The slalom model is the Blizzard Firebird SRC WC Piston. It is a ski that you have to give the "you" in the first few turns, you have to take confidence, especially for the solid structure and the high rebound, thanks to the Piston plate, so as to bring it closer to a pure race model. Once known, skiing proves to be manageable, fun and even intuitive. The main aspect of this product, in addition to the very reactive structure, is the ease with which it is sharpened, with a not sudden and very intuitive curved entrance (Riccardo Nardelli), resulting in good running and an absence of dead moments in the skiing, always if conducted with fast, short curves and not in a skid. In the all-around sector, Blizzard offers the Firebird HRC in the “performance” category and the Firebird Competition in the lower category. Firebird HRC is proposed as a ski for intermediate beams and is appreciated by our testers for its simplicity and ease of management over a period of elective curve: every member of the test team has in fact appreciated the ductility and the ability to easily enter the curve. The spatula is very soft and offers an advantage in entering the curve and in the impulse in the change of direction, the stability is excellent even in tough conditions, like those of our test: su nevi smossi manages to float well for the category it belongs to. When changing the ski responds well but is not always as aggressive as some competitors or as a high user could expect. The Blizzard Firebird Competition is a perfect ski for those who want a versatile, agile and stable ski on any snow and slope, performing at high speed. The ski has a good rigid structure, it supports you throughout the curve with stability and precision, it is a bit difficult to turn at low speed for the level proposed. The ski finds its optimal position for a skier of level 5 or higher For intermediate levels we find the Blizzard Quattro. The 2019/20 edition of the Blizzard Quattro RS 70 is a proposal that fully focuses on the category and target audience. The strengths of the product of the Austrian house are stability, ease of management and yield in medium curves, three of the main aspects on which an advanced tourist usually concentrates. The management of the curve is quiet, the ski sins a little in reversal phase and does not have much impetus when skiing at high levels, understood as a chain of curves, while at medium speeds this small delay is not felt, indeed it favors the calmer and less competitive skiing. For female skiers the proposal is the Blizzard Alight Pro which centers very well the profile of the 4-5 skier. The made in Austria ski is a product that stands out for its manageability and lightness of the structure. The comfort of skiing is therefore very high, provided that you use the ski in medium rays, where it makes really good, especially on slopes not too much complicated. In the all-mountain field Blizzard introduces itself to the Neveitalia tests with the Brahma 82 model, a ski that is well suited to both freeride and track. On a beaten track it is a precise and very versatile product, it performs well and is easy to use in all bows. of curve, it turns out to be very stable and reactive but at the same time hard and demanding. Bringing it out of track on dusty snow making short and medium bows is very beautiful and fun. Finally, as a pure freeski ski, the Austrian company proposes the Rustler 10. Tested in the 180 cm size it has proved to be versatile in all conditions. The spatula is soft and facilitates buoyancy, skiing is fun especially when used at high speed. For the most extreme freeski the ski is almost too narrow but the sidecut helps to deform it easily, favoring the skier in running the curves.
