Ski Test 2019/20: Fischer with three medals in the skis "Chosen by the Tester"

We tested six new models in the Fischer 2019/20 range, the classic RC4 Worldcup, the famous The Curv and the new RC One, presented at ISPO Munich this year. Here are the results of our tests.

A classic at FIscher is the GS Fischer RC4 Worldcup RC Yellow Base Curv Booster racecarver. It is a ski that as soon as you put it on your feet you immediately understand that it is a product with great ease of use, especially when cornering, with a very light structure, which makes it suitable even for skiers who are not physically fit. The structure, lighter than the competitors, makes the curve easier to manage, but with a preference for medium-narrow arches: it is the GS racecarver proposal that gets the best score in this item and is rewarded by the Test Team as "Chosen by the testers" for the 2019/20 season. The setup phase is certainly simple, especially at medium speeds, while the release phase appears to be more impulsive, suffering icy and bumpy. The brother for the tight curves is the Fischer RC4 Worldcup SC Yellow Base Curv Booster, a model that has always liked the Neveitalia Test Team for its intuitiveness and simplicity in managing the curve. Despite being a leading product of the Austrian company, it is never too nervous, the reactions are always predictable and this does not affect performance or stability. The product, tested this year in a 171cm size, is confirmed very well structured, solid and rather heavy at the foot. The "triple" sidecut with which it was designed suffered slightly from the difficult conditions of the test, very loose snow with fresh wet stretches but without losing the typical maneuverability that has characterized it in these years. where it is easier to set the trajectory and enter the curve, but then with increasing speed it tends to lose gradually and stability and it is difficult to correct the trajectory. The feminine declination of TheCurv is represented by the new Fischer MyCurv Allride. The Austrian proposal immediately appears very stable and with a good impulse in the change of direction, structured, reactive and fun. It is immediately evident that skiing is not strictly centered for the 4-5 level public but is largely superior. The structure is in fact that of TheCurv, although facilitated for the female public, and therefore tend to be heavy, demanding and with much response at the end of the curve, that we need to know how to control. The most tourist camp is bread from the RC One range. The top we tried is the Fischer RC One 72 Multiflex. The ski appears immediately light and not tiring, versatile both as an audience and as a use on various snow conditions, the instructor Giovanni Manfrini explained carefully. It is indeed a very good ski that is appreciated both for its maneuverability and comfort and is definitely fun, fitting perfectly for level 5 skiers. The curved entrance is very simple thanks to the rocker and quite soft spatula, also if not always accurate, the distance from mid-bend to then improves considerably, so that for some testers the strong point is to be found in the curve closing, because from the middle onwards it remains very stable and precise. The Fischer RC One 73 Allride is instead designed for evolving skiers. It is a product that surprised our testers for their good responses, thanks also to the particular rigid structure in the center but very light in the spatula and tail. It is a fun ski and it is easy, with good responses both at low and medium level, it reacts well even at speeds not its own and has a good reaction in operation. The tool is suitable for complicated conditions, the test field was with fresh and loose snow and the ski reacted very well in driving in all the bows. In the freeski field all-mountain Fischer proposes the now famous Ranger, now present on the market for several years but which is renewed for the 2019-2020 season. The Ranger 99 is the most versatile of the Ranger Ti range, with a wood core, Titanal inserts and carbon tip, offers itself to be skied a lot on the track thanks to the combination of rigidity and agility. The Fischer Ranger 99 Ti seemed like a multi-purpose ski, easy to use, with an excellent floatation, on the track it leads well even in wide curves. All testers agree that skiing behaves very well both on the track and off-piste, and wins the "Chosen by Tester" award for buoyancy. Skiing has few weak points: the structure is a little stiff and the toe is a bit too light and rock-hard.
