Ski test 2020/21: three medals for Nordica

At Nordica we tested four models for next season, in the most relevant categories: the giant with the GSR, the slalom with the SLR and the allround with the GSC and Spitfire 70 Pro and three out of four models received the recognition of Chosen by Testers!

Let's start with the famous Nordic Dobermann GSR, tested again this year in the RB FDT version on the snows of the Livrio Glacier. The ski proves to be an excellent product, easy to handle and comfortable especially in the 175cm size, which allows excellent management of all arches. It is a ski that appears light as soon as the first turn is set, but which always holds without ever giving in. From the second half of the curve onwards, the ski becomes calmer than in the first phase of the curve, in which, thanks to the simplicity of the inversion, you can enter aggressively. Next to the GSR we find the Nordica Dobermann SLR, awarded with the medal of the skis Chosen by the Testers for the 2020/21 season and also this year it is confirmed as an excellent product, pleasant, intuitive, easy to handle that facilitate the short range. in the 170cm size, to have a little more versatility and we have received confirmation, it is almost polyvalent and has an excellent management and a nice edge grip. It is a ski that immediately appears light and simple to set up, it turns well without making any effort and is harmonious in the flexion.Despite being an SL ski it practically never tires and can be ski all day because it is never tiring, it does entertain and is a prerequisite for improving management. On the snows of Pila we focused on Allounds trying, together with numerous selected consumers led by our National Instructors, the Nordica Spitfire Pro 70 (in the Allround Tourism category) and the Nordica GSC in the lower category. The Nordica Spitfire Pro 70 has earned the Gold Medal among all-round skis for the season, confirming itself as an excellent product, ideal for any good skier.It is a ski that remains glued to the ground regardless of the snow conditions, it is dynamic, light, stable, very fun even on transformed or transformed terrain. The terrain of choice is medium curves, but it adapts well to all arcs of curves, especially facilitating the closing of the curve. It is a ski that confirms the declared profile almost 100%, it is very gradual in use and particularly versatile, despite the length of 175cm. We close our tests of the Italian house with the Nordica Dobermann GSC: the new proposal meets the favor of most of our testers, so much so that it receives the coveted award of "Chosen by the testers" in the reference category, thanks to the excellent stability and to yield in wide curves.The intuition of the Italian house, to present a ski derived from the giant but with a lighter structure and more approachable by many, has been a winner. It is an easy but high-performance ski, which forgives mistakes while still offering excellent grip, encourages you to extend the radius of the curve and rarely goes into difficulty.It is a product that satisfies especially in wide curves, where it obtains one of the highest marks of the category, across the board between our “Pro” and “Consumer” testers. The stability is that of a higher range model, without however having the stiffness or handling difficulty of higher category skis.
