Ski test 2021/21: three more medals for Nordica

We tried some Nordica skis for next season, a selection of the most important skis in the 2021/22 range, let's discover together the piste and freeride range.

In the GS racecarver field, the Nordica Dobermann GSR RB is presented with beautiful and totally renewed graphics, we tested it on the snows of Cervinia at the beginning of summer in the mid-range version, the one that promises to be the best seller: 175cm for 18.5 meters of radius. This ski is a classic of the production of the Italian house and maintains its innate characteristics, that is great stability and above all optimal management of the conduction, especially in the central phase of the curve. Despite the limited length, it always manages to give the skier great safety thanks to stability both in the medium arch and in the wider arch. The beauty of skiing is the handling on medium slopes, you can do everything with ease, managing to safely manage both the radius of the curve and the speed of execution, managing to correct any setting errors without any problem. The SL racecarver at Nordica is the Dobermann SLR RB Piston which is confirmed, in essence, also for next season. We tested it on the snows of the Stelvio in the summer of 2020 and it is confirmed as an excellent product, pleasant, intuitive, easy to handle that facilitate short-haul. The structure is light to the foot and it is easy to put the edge, it works well in corner entry and it is managed without any effort, it is harmonious in the flexion and stable at all speeds. It practically never tires despite being a slalom ski and allows it to be used all day, without tiring or straining the back. In the all-round Nordica it clearly meets the favor of our testers, receiving two medals among the “Chosen by the Testers” skis. The first is the Doberman GSC, awarded the cockade "Chosen by the testers" in the reference category, thanks to its excellent stability and performance in wide turns. , across the board between our “Pro” and “Consumer” testers. The stability is that of a higher range model, without however having the stiffness or management difficulty of higher category skis: "it is very nice in the medium and wide range, it is good in conduction and it is easy to handle and intuitive in these archi ”, Laura Jardi summarized very well in the sheet. The best allround tourism proposal for 2021/22 is represented by the Nordica Spitfire Pro 70 which is awarded the Gold Medal among the skis Chosen by the testers, confirming itself as the best all-round proposal for the next season. Tested in February 2020 by a Test Team made by professionals and amateurs have proven to be an excellent product, ideal for any good skier of level 5 and above.In the category it is a ski that surprises in terms of structure: it remains glued to the ground regardless of the snow conditions, excels in comfort and is practically free from defects, making the most of medium curves It excels in the most important item for a touring all-rounder: comfort, really at the highest levels, is practically free from defects, it has only a not very reactive tip (Laura Jardi and Stefano Belingheri) and is for some skiers too physically demanding to be used at a high level all day. In the same category we find the Nordica Spitfire 76: an interesting ski, which straddles the Allround Performance and Allround tourism category, with a sidecut and a fairly generous center. Our Test Team liked it above all for the simplicity of handling, we tested it on snow that was not too compact and it achieved excellent results, excelling in flotation, with good edge grip and high general comfort. In the freeski field there are two proposals that we tried at the Livigno tests in the spring of 2021: the Enforcer 94 model is the proposal in the all-mountain freeride field, for a purely alternating use between track and (above all) off-piste. It is a well structured, performing, intuitive ski and excellent at high speeds. It is a ski that gives emotions, powerful and fast, excellent for running on any type of slope and snow. The weaknesses found by the testers are: the weight if you want to configure it with a ski-touring or ski touring set-up. The Enforcer 104 Free model, on the other hand, is the "pure" freeride proposal, the model designed for the Powder which, thanks to the experience gained also overseas, wins the Gold medal and places itself on the top step of the podium in the freeride category above the 100mm wide under the foot. Excellent in all snow conditions, excellent also in the aerial phase during the jumps, well structured and manageable, excellent during the release phase. No weaknesses were found for this model by the testers. The Nordica Enforcer 104 Free confirms itself as a real "bomb", a highly performing ski, but at the same time intuitive right from the start and very fun. A real pleasure to drive it in deep powder snow and on extremely steep slopes.
