Ski test 2021/22: the best of K2

Today we present the results of the tests of K2, a company known above all for freeskiing but which knows how to carve out a good space even on the track, with a philosophy of products aimed at fun and feeling good on the track, and this year also launches a line high-end racecarver.

The novelty of next season will be precisely the SL and GS racecarver line.The K2 Disruption Ti2 is the proposal in the GS field, a demanding product, measuring 177cm with almost 21 meters of radius, even too stiff for tourist use but very enjoyable for wide curves, clearly designed for those who want the sensations of a GS ski brought to the track.In the short range, thanks to the reduced reactivity in the change of edge and the rigidity of the structure, it is very manageable and manages to close the curve well. The ski is extremely sectorial, in the sense that it excels in the elective field, the wide curves thanks to a rigid and very stable structure, which allows excellent conduction in the wide radius. In the racecarver SL category the new Distruption STI is presented: a ski that is light in setting and easy to manage the curve, we tested it on snow that was not too hard, it was able to positively impress our testers.The ski confirms the profile described by the house and receives the recognition of "Chosen by the Testers" for next season thanks to the stability of the structure and the impulse in the change of direction. The structure and the geometries make it perfect for short and medium curves, aspects where it obtains the best results of our card at the end of the test, thanks not only to the excellent impulse in the change of direction but also to the general handling, which is expressed in all situations. In the allround performance field we find Disruption 82TI, launched in 2021 and confirmed this year. Our Test Team likes the product above all for its yield in wide curves, so much so that it has earned the medal of "Testers' Choice" for the allround Performance category. The new structure is particularly harmonious in its flexion and sincere in its responses: it is stable at high speeds , it does not break down in any situation and is also docile in handling at medium speeds. In the freeski field, the sector of choice for K2, we find the Minbender series with the 90C and 108Ti In the All-Mountain-Freeride category we find the Mindbender 90C model which adapts very well to all types of snow and its behavior is very similar to that of a ski used on the track, it is light and manageable and adapts to every type of snow. It is "pleasant" and is characterized by a rigid structure and is also very precise with excellent deformation when cornering. The ski is performing in all conditions and situations, from fresh powder snow to the slopes, passing through steep slopes, gullies and groves. In the freeride field, on the other hand, we find the Mindbender 108Ti model. It is an intuitive and versatile ski, well structured especially the stiffer tail to keep it responsive and agile during landing. It has excellent buoyancy and is great for jumping.The K2 Mindbender 108Ti proved to be an intuitive, versatile and well structured ski recommended for Big Mountain, Derby, Heliski, Backcountry in open and dense woods. Ideal for those who love to jump and Cliff as the stiff tail of the ski supports very well when landing.
