Among the best GS racecarvers of the moment we certainly find the HEAD Worldcup e-GS Rebels Pro: the ski has dimensions and sidecuts that we are not used to, with a radius of more than 21 meters under the foot in the 177cm length: it starts a lot on eggs at the first turns but you discover a ski with excellent arrows in its bow! It is elected by our testers as "Chosen by the Testers" and the best product in the GS racecarver segment for general handling and the ability to manage (for the category) the sharp curves. The ski is positioned at the top also in terms of stability and wide curves, the daily bread of the product.
Still in the racecarver field, Head offers the Worldcup Rebels e-Speed which proves to be a very fun and manageable ski, simplifying the concept of racecarver and offering itself to a very wide audience. You immediately feel at ease thanks to a very well-calibrated structure, it enters corners easily, it is stable and precise throughout the curve, our testers tell us. When the slope has medium slopes and compact snow, it manages to offer the best , it is well suited to skiers who always like to ski in a guided direction, from level 5 upwards. In our tests it excels in stability and handling, but this aspect shouldn't suggest a tiring or difficult ski to turn, provided you are physically strong. In fact, in the cards of our testers, an excellent propensity for simple management of the driven curve emerges, thanks also to the stability that never translates into rigidity of the axles.
Among the SL racecarvers, the Head Worldcup Rebels e-SL stands out: a fun and manageable ski, always attached to the ground, even at high speeds, with an ideal structure for tight turns. And next year's most comfortable slalom racecarver, so much so that it was awarded as "Chosen by testers" for the 2022/23 season. if you don't have excellent technique, which allows you to make mistakes but also makes you dare. Handling and management comfort are the reference points of the ski, it fully responds to the profile of an SL racecarver, excels in tight turns, always being well set and precise.
Since it was born, the Head Worldcup Rebels e-Race Pro has always received very positive reviews, positioning itself in a point of the range that is not fully covered: a multi-radius ski with a high-level structure. The profile is fully centred, the Head technicians have managed to offer a truly "Pro" product, which is aimed at level 6-7 skiers, ex agonists, instructors and coaches, the ideal companion for a very good tourist or a snow professional, looking for a manageable but in each case stable and performing. The ski excels in several points of our card, from stability to handling, from edge grip to yield in medium curves. And it is precisely under these last two aspects that it receives the recognition of ski "Chosen by Testers" in the all-round performance category for the 2022/23 season. Right from the first turns you can feel the texture of which the ski is made: thanks to the structure derived from the best performing models of the house, edge grip is immediate. While driving the ski does not give in at any point of the curve, it remains stable and does not move a millimeter.
This year Head has also begun an interesting collaboration with Porsche, which is not limited to a simple marketing operation or simply a rebranding of an existing product. We tested the new Head Porsche 70 which expressed its own peculiarities and characteristics, proving to be a valid, pleasant ski, ideal for guided skiing. It is a product that makes you ski well, both in conducted turns and in those with a little steering in the first meters, it adapts to the terrain and remains intuitive, in all curve arcs. It is stable, precise, with quick edge grip and gradual cornering, thanks to the soft spatula. The ski is ideal for all-day skiing, for having fun in an average arc and having a tool with great maneuverability and a good deal of stability.
Always in the allround tourism field, Head offers the Supershape e-Original which owes its name to the reconfirmation of a historical sidecut, identical in size to that of the first Supershape in history. It is a ski with which you immediately gain confidence, you immediately feel it yours, excellent for medium arc bends. Our testers really liked the edge grip and the impulse in changing direction and it was awarded with the " Chosen by the Testers", among the best skis in the all-round segment for next season. It is in the medium range in which the best results are obtained, both in riding and handling, synonymous with excellent balance between structure. The ski fully satisfies the profile described and is among the best products for next season for those who want to progress in level, but also for those who have achieved leadership and are looking for a ski that is simple to set up, easy to manage and pleasant to ski.
For those looking for a wider arc, Head offers the Supershape e-Speed, placed a step below the Worldcup Rebels line. It is a ski devoted to medium and wide curves, it has good handling that allows you to raise the bar of skiing. The Austrian product offers itself as a valid companion for all those skiers who ski calmly, with precise and rhythmic skiing, in handling and are looking for a ski with high stability and good performance without being forced to make excessive sacrifices in terms of handling and good comfort. Indeed, in the new edition, it is these last two aspects that are most rewarded by our Test Team.
In the all-rounds dedicated to the female public we tried both the Head Super Joy and the Power Joy. The Joy line is confirmed by the Austrian house also for next season and finds in the Super Joy model a well-calibrated product for evolving female skiers and is awarded as ski "Chosen by the Testers" among the best products dedicated to female skiers for the next season thanks to its great handling. Tight turns are the ski's preferred radius, it leads female skiers to learn how to handle flat surfaces and remains easy and light, the profile of the ski is definitely centered and is proposed for skiers who want to ski not too fast, who like to make many turns and are not looking for a tool that is too quick to change and with little impulse at the end of the turn, which allows them to calibrate the curve closure.
The Head Power Joy is centered for the category, equipped with good general comfort and good handling, the main requirements that are sought in a product dedicated to female skiers. It has good edge grip, also facilitated by the light tip which makes it easier the management in the entry of the curve, has little impulse at the end of the curve to be able to better manage the closing, without being jolted.
In freeski Head there is the Kore Tour 93, a light freeride ski, equipped with the Tyrolia Ambition binding which allows the ascent with the aid of synthetic skins and offers the safety of a downhill piste binding. The right ski for those who want to switch from piste to powder thanks to the good progression in deformation and gradual flex throughout the curve. It has a versatile range of use between piste and off-piste and remains stable, intuitive, responsive and with good floatation, overall a great ski. Head Kore Tour 93 tested in size 177 turned out to be an easy, intuitive and versatile freeride ski. A ski that can be used at 360° throughout the ski season.
We then tested the Head Kore 105 tested on the snow of Carosello 3000 in Livigno. It is a product with excellent buoyancy and good performance in deep snow, agile and reactive even on transformed and spring snow. It is a very progressive ski in the deformation and response, with a rigid structure that requires good control by the skier. Responsive ski with many "horsepower" to handle with strength and attention, well structured that in powder at high speeds gives emotions and satisfaction. It is ideal for Big Mountain, Derby, Heliski and backcountry in not too dense woods. Recommended for both male and female audiences with good technical background. For use with skins it can be used for short ascents not exceeding 500/600m. of elevation gain.
